Felicity Taylor is an Instructor, Rider and Coach catering for a wide range of clients and is now based at Burnby Equestrian Centre.
I offer riding and instruction on your own horse or pony at your yard or at my base of Burnby Equestrian Centre. Having the use of BEC allows me to work with you and your horse in a variety of situations from flat to jump right the way through to hacking. We can work on your horses confidence or your own, all at your own pace. I aim to keep my lesson and riding prices affordable to allow every horse owner/rider to progress to success.
Instructing I aim to provide relaxed, confidence building sessions, which allow progression. I base my lessons on the foundations of riding, which begin with the "Scales of Training" for both horse and rider. I aim to keep my lessons topics interesting and varied. I teach riders from as young as 4 years old through to adults. I am qualified to UKCC Level 2, OFQUAL L3 as well as British Horse Society PT Level. I have been teaching and riding for many years now only setting up as a freelancer due to demand.
Riding Alongside lessons and coaching sessions, I develop young and green horses into calm and confident rides, this is my specialism. From schooling to hacking. I work with horses through a variety of training situations to encourage them to make the right choice. My ridden aims are to allow the owner to build a working and understanding relationship with their horse once they get back on board. I aim to compliment your own riding.
As riders we have to become the herd leader and encourage our horse through our body language and mind to override the natural fight or flight mechanism therefore controlling the situation.
"The best partnerships are developed through a mutual understanding, which is where my work is unique. I bring both horse and rider forward together, even if you're feeling overwhelmed by your new or young horse." - Felicity Taylor
