I offer riding services to develop young and green horses and lessons for riders seeking instruction. I have most recently taken on the role of Yard Manager at Burnby Equestrian Centre. This has given me the opportunity to teach lessons from Tuesdays to Saturdays for a wide range of clients from beginners through to competitive riders. I have most recently achieved Pony Club Centre Status for Burnby which allows me to coach children towards their Pony Club badges and develop confident and knowledgeable riders of the future.
I aim to provide friendly, confidence building sessions, which assist progression. I base my lessons on the foundations of riding, which begin with the "Scales of Training" for both horse and rider. I teach riders from as young as 5 years old through to adults.
I am qualified to UKCC Level 2 as well as British Horse Society PT Level. I am currently training towards BHS Stage 3 to become an AI.
Alongside lessons and coaching sessions, I develop young and green horses into calm and confident rides, this is my specialism.
I work with horses through a variety of training situations to encourage them to make the right choice.
As riders we have to become the herd leader and encourage our horse through our body language and mind to override the natural fight or flight mechanism and control the situation.
"The best partnerships are developed through a mutual understanding, which is where my work is unique. I bring both horse and rider forward together, even if you're feeling overwhelmed by your new or young horse."
