He's done it again!! Both Dylan and I competed in our very first One Day event at Selby and District Riding Club!!! We started with a dressage test, which Dylan found very exciting as there were lots of other horses out and about. Not our best, but a good effort! Really great comments from the judge, Andrea Peel, including " A Super obliging Cob" Then we went on to Dylan's very first Show Jumping course....he went clear and really seemed to enjoy this round! Even cantering some of the course! Finally we had the Cross Country Phase....well that was so much fun!!! We had 19 jumps to clear, we knocked 2 down. However we have never done Cross Country together so I was so proud of him. We faced a water tray (which produced a huge jump from Dylan), a few skinny jumps, tyres and even flags! Dylan was happy to give them all a go and even had canters in between to make up our time! We do have videos and more piccys to upload soon, this one is us at the start of the day! I must say a huge thank you to Dylan's owner Linsey Rowbury who allowed me to take Dylan out and provided hot coffee and delicious egg sandwiches! And thank you to all of those that came to support, especially Gill Dodsworth for holding my many layers so I could cool down following Cross Country! And finally the result....we came 2nd!!! We were beaten by my very own Sponsored rider Tracey Elcock on Beaver. A worthy win with only one jump down in the Cross Country! Well done Tracey! |
